Real-sized shark sculpture by french multimedia artist Xavier Veilhan (1963). Xavier Veilhan often work with the possibilities of representation. Veilhan is not seeking to create perfect copies. His figures are archetypes reduced to essentials and without details, and often comes in unnatural colors with sharp edges. Other animal representations made by Veilhan include penguins, horses and rhinoceros to name a couple. Veilhan lives and works in Paris.
Not quite sure of the measurements of this sculpture. Xavier Veilhan has made another life-sized shark sculpture in 2008, that measured 200 x 500 x 220 cm.
It was exhibited at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin. I think it’s made of polished stainless steel.
